Ayrton
Senna-on-track tutorial available. |

Senna
tribute render is RacingRenders' latest tutorial
If I
was going to do an on-track tutorial it had to be with Senna. I was
undecided if the 94 Williams was the right way to go but in the end I
decided it would also serve as a fitting tribute. This latest tutorial,
available at the RacingRenders shop, covers 4hr 20mins in 6 seperate
lessons. We start with getting the car from the mod into the 3D
package (Lightwave in my case), then building a section of track from
scratch and finally setting up the car and driver so that both have moveable
parts in order to make the shot. Once the render is complete we move into
Photoshop (other graphics packages can be used), to so some post-processing
to give the final result. Final render can be seen in full by clicking
the thumbnail image.
Tutorial length: 4hrs 20mins No. of lessons: 6 Resolution: 1280x720

Clay renders are popular too and are great for
showing up the details (or flaws) in your model. This is a short
tutorial showing how to achieve the effect with ambient occlusion.
Tutorial is 27mins and in 1280x720 resolution.

Megane
Eurocup render tutorial now available at RacingRenders
shop!
Following on from our F1 Force India rendering
tutorial, we now have a new one with the 2010 Renault Megane Eurocup.
Here we again go from rFactor game model to final render and create our
own simple studio to render it in. As well as delving into a
little extra detail, we also do some basic asset modelling and add a
corporate logo to the subtle reflective floor.
Tutorial is 4 parts
totalling 2hr58mins and in 1280x720 resolution.

RacingRenders
shop now OPEN ! |
| |
 |
15th Mar. '12 |
| |
 |
RacingRenders
has now opened a shop! Now you can find out how it's
done! In the shop you can purchase tutorials explaining in detail how
I go from the game model to the final render. There is one
tutorial online at the moment which explains the process of getting the car
model from rFactor to final render. Here we use the 2009 Force India
F1 car from FSOne. Around 1hr40mins of learning at a bargain price. More
tutorials will appear in time.
Take note that my 3D package of choice
is Lightwave, not 3D Max. But if you know how to do the equivalent of
what I do in Lightwave in 3DMax then you should be fine to follow along.
Also, rendering services will soon be available where you can buy the
services of RacingRenders.com to make a pack of custom renders for you from
a model you provide. There will also be an option to request a car to be
modelled and have it rendered too.
(The next tutorials planned are an
on-track render of Ayrton Senna in the '94 Williams and a tin-top car studio
render.)

From
the F1-S-R 1994 F1 mod for rFactor comes the MTV Simtek Ford S941.
The car was driven by David Brabham and Roland Ratzenberger until
Ratzenbergers fatal crash at Imola which saw Andrea Montermini, Jean-Marc
Gounon and Dominico Schiattarella take turns in the no.2 car.
Ratzenbergers death, along with Senna's the following day, shook the
motoring world to it's core and prompted many safety changes we still see
the benefits from today.
